Eaglebrook School HISTORY

  • Eaglebrook School was founded by Howard B. Gibbs in 1922 when he bought a 27 acre plot of land in Western Massachusetts with the purpose of creating a pre-secondary school that combines rigorous learning with an emphasis on an active outdoor life for boys. With Gibb’s unexpected death, an Eaglebrook teacher Thurston Chase assumed the position of headmaster and expanded the school’s campus facilities as well as the school’s enrollment. Eaglebrook School throughout its history has maintained its emphasis in outdoors activities for the education of young boys.
